Tap
Tap dance is an exciting, theatrical and rhythmical dance form.
Dancers learn and develop a sense of rhythm and technical skills, creating beats and sounds with their feet. A wide variety of fun and innovative music is used to aid the development of timing and creativity.
At Dance Act we follow the ISTD Tap syllabus and dancers may have the opportunity to take examinations if they wish to do so from the age of 5 years.
Children can participate in tap classes from the age of 3 years.
We provide classes in all grades through to the advanced major grades.
Modern
Modern Theatre dance is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities. The style uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns which all require strength and flexibility. Modern is complemented by the foundations and technique learnt in ballet.
Modern is a lovely and energetic dance style which encourages performance and musicality.
